Arsenal lost 2-1 on aggregate to Atletico Madrid in the semi-finals, this means that the manager will leave without his dream farewell. Arsene Wenger will leave Arsenal a very sad man. This is because at the end of the season he was unable to guide the club into the Europa League final in his last campaign at the helm. After being the manager for nearly 22 years and presiding over three premier league title wins and seven FA cups triumphs, wenger announced his decision to depart in April. His exit was seen as a way for the players to scoop the Europa league crown so as to send him off in style.

Barcelona announces squad for El Clasico against Real Madrid. The next Barcelona match is upon the funs! The Blaugrana continue their journey to an unbeaten La Liga title against Real Madrid in what looks like a great El Clásico at Camp Nou, and Ernesto Valverde has called up all the 18 players to be in uniform on Sunday night.

UEFA have confirmed a restructure to the Champions League, this includes changing the kick-off times and a guaranteed entry to the group stages. Liverpool was placed fourth in the finish at last season's Premier League, this meant that they had to navigate a play-off in August against Hoffenheim so as to qualify for the competition properly.

But as the new rules sanctioned ahead of the 2018/19 season state that the top four from England as well as Spain, Italy and Germany will gain direct qualification into the group stages. The tournament will also include two new kick-off times, with the old 7.45pm kick off being replaced by 5.55pm and 8pm. This comes as a boost to the Reds, who will not have to face a play-off in order to gain entry into the group stages regardless of where they finish in the top four.
