Is Gor's winless run growing...

Gor Mahia's winless run continued after they threw a 2 nil first half lead to draw against Sofapaka. Meddie Kagere opened the scoring within just under ten minutes to put the home side in control. Bernard Ondieks header in the 34th minute extended the lead for the hosts before a spirited Sofapaka comeback in the second half. Ezekiel Okares second half brace seemed to have downed Gor Mahia before Innocent Wafula equalized for Gor.

The green army, marred with injuries, made several changes to their starting XI. Francis Kahata started on the bench while Meddy Kagere returned to the starting XI. Francis Baraza's side, Sofapaka, looked set to continue their winning form. He retained the side that won against Zoo Kericho.

Sofapaka enjoyed plenty of possession in the starting half. They seemed to have overpowered a ‘burnt out' Gor Mahia side. Gor Mahia defense, led by Shakava, dealt well with the blunt Sofapaka strike force before Meddie Kagere broke the deadlock. Sofapaka continued piling more pressure but Bernard Ondieks header ten minutes before the break looked to have settled the tie for Gor Mahia.

Kepha Aswani scored five minutes after the break to restore Sofapaka back into the tie. From there on it was Sofapaka throwing in attack after the other. Their pressure finally bore fruits in the 82nd minute after Ezekiel Okare scored to level the tie. A minute later, Ezekiel scored and it seemed to have downed Gor Mahia. Innocent Wafula's late strike levelled the six-goal thriller to complete a come back, well, for both sides.
