Los Angeles football Club extended their home winning streak to 9th this past weekend with Carlos Vela opening the scoring sheet by converting two penalties at the 7th minute of the match and right before the end of first half( extra time) . To top it off, Ryan Hollingshead sealed the win for the Black and Gold by scoring his 6th goal of the season at the 52nd minute closing the goal scoring at 3-1 in favour of LAFC.
LAFC remain on top of the Western Conference and tied up with Philadelphia Union on points and the race to the Supporters Shield.
On top of the win, 11 LAFC players listed below have received call ups by their national teams, six of whom will participate in the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar:
CANADA: Maxime Crepeau
ECUADOR: Sebastian Mendez, Diego Palacios, Jose Cifuentes
EL SALVADOR: Tomas Romero
GABON: Denis Bouanga
MEXICO (U20): Christian Torres, Tony Leone, Nathan Ordaz
USA: Kellyn Acosta
WALES: Gareth Bale
The six that will be participating in the FIFA 2022 World Cup include:- Max Crepeau (Canada), Sebastian Mendez, Jose Cifuentes, Diego Palacios, (Ecuador), Kellyn Acosta (USA) and Gareth Bale (Wales).
Eleven players in one team is a lot for a given club but it shows the powerhouse LAFC has built, it also raises concern when it comes to the race to Supporter Shield given the international break.
