Tough loss for Costa Rica Women's National team as Canada get a goal to seal their fate on this road to Tokyo.

Costa Rica held their own for the most part despite the Canadian side giving constant pressure.

Canada's breakthrough came at 72 min when Jordyn Huitema tapped in a goal that had initially hit the side bar.



Coach Amelia Valverde wa quick to point out that the team tried to build up their confidence throughout the game when a mistake turned things away from Tokyo.






Canada will face the reigning world cup champs USWNT for the final game of the tournament at Dignity Health Sports Park.
