First home debut came with no gifts for Chicharito

Chicharito's first home debut failed to bear fruit as they conceded to Vancouver Whitecaps 1-0 on their home opener at the Dignity Health Sports Park.

Registering only 1 shot and about 30 touches in the game, it seemed very hard to find Chicharito with the long air balls the wingers kept feeding him.

The fun was with Cristian Pavon who ran the show on the right wing with his fast pace and quick feet. His shot on goal almost gave the Galaxy the lead 47 minutes into the game. Crisian has been showing a lot of promise by taking charge of the wing and confidence to shoot from far. He is definitely proving to be one of LA GALAXY'S force.

Another man of the match moment goes to LA GALAXY's goalkeeper David Bingham his penalty save at 89th minute kept LA GALAXY in the game despite playing 10 men after Joe Corona received a red card 15 minutes to stoppage time.

At the end of the game, coach Guilliamo showed he was aware that everyone is expecting Chicharito but he was not very concerned about that than the team winning.

"I’m more worried about the result tonight than if Chicharito scored or not. We expect he will score in the next game. We couldn't find him."

It is safe to say, despite the big scare of the Coronavirus, the match had a great turn out with lots of expectations especially a goal from the new signing Chicharito Hernandez. This is just his second game and first home debut.

LA GALAXY host Orlando City on March 22, at 3pm.
