How the Landon Donovan Week-long Celebration will end in Rivals week

The week-long celebration will commence on Saturday, Sept. 25, volunteers will assist with painting murals at Bonita Street Elementary School as part of Landon Donovan’s Legacy Project. The event will take place in two shifts on Sept. 25, first between 8:00 – 11:00 a.m. PT and from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. PT. Fans of all ages are welcome to assist and can sign up for the event at www.lagalaxy.com/galaxygiving. Volunteers will receive Landon Donovan event t-shirts.

The Donovan Statue unveiling will take place on Oct. 3 at Legends Plaza in a pregame ceremony that will be open to the public beginning at 2:00 p.m. PT. All fans interested in attending are encouraged to arrive by 2:00 p.m. PT. Seventeen thousand Landon Donovan t-shirts will be distributed to fans on ingress for the match against LAFC. Additionally, the Landon Donovan Photo Experience, a curation of photography that includes some of the most iconic moments across the duration of Donovan’s career with the Galaxy, will take place on The Deck at Dignity Health Sports Park and will be available to view when gates open to the public. At halftime, Donovan will be honored and placed in the club’s Ring of Honor alongside the names of David Beckham, Mauricio Cienfuegos, Doug Hamilton and Cobi Jones

End Game

Finally the cross town rivals battle will take center stage from 5pm.

LA Galaxy are 4th in the Western Conference with 11 wins, 5 ties and 9 losses. The host team will play away games at Austin FC on September 26th at 6:30pm and at Real Salt Lake on September 29th at 6:30pm before the rivals Clash on October 3rd at Dignity Health Sports Park.

LAFC on the other hand will play San Jose Earthquakes on September 25th at 7:00pm then host Portland Timbers on September 29th at 7:30pm right before the El Trafico clash.
