LA Galaxy ties 1-1 against visiting Portland Timbers at the Dignity Health Sports Park

LA Galaxy tied against the visitors; Portland Timbers, in the dying minutes to secure a point at home this past weeked.



Portland Timbers came in strong after coming off a loss against Inter Miami. With 8 shots and a rate of 47% of possession in the first 45 minutes. Portland Timbers, Winger, Yimmi Chará managed to place one in the back of the net in the 38th minute. After shooting a total of 6 shots.



Going into the second half there was plenty of scoring opportunities from LA Galaxy along with a clear attempt of a foul in the box from Grandsir, resulting in a yellow card on his end. By the 72nd minute LA Galaxy, desperate for a goal began fouling Portland Timber players in the middle of the field, giving threatful scoring opportunities. Attempts from defender, Araujo taking his player down the line a few times to create opportunities for his teammates but couldn’t do it alone with many turnovers on his end.



By the 80th minute the possession for LA Galaxy looked extremely promising with movement from the one side of the field to the other. However, wasn’t getting the goal. In the 82nd minute, forward Yimmi Chara went for a through ball that had left him with an open goal from the midfield, however that was cleared out by LA Galaxy goalkeeper, Bond.



In the 87th minute a right footed cross from defender, Araujo for a head finish from Dejan Joveljic gave the Galaxy a tying goal.
