LAFC beats Portland 2 zero in the U.S Open Cup to advance into the round of 16

Cristian Arango and Mamadou Fall registered a goal each to contribute to LAFC''s 2-0 win against Portland Timbers in the U.S Open Cup at the Banc of California Stadium on Tuesday May 10th 2022.



A well deserved Man of the match also went to Maxime Crépeau LAFC''s goalie for going all out in the saves, keeping the teams lead to the last whistle.



LAFC' advance to the round of 16 in the U.S Open Cup but their opponent is yet to be known.

Game Highlights:


Portland had a breakaway at the 22nd minute but Maxime Crépeau blocked the fast buildup Portland had that could have potentially changed the dynamics of the game.


Cristian Arango finally found the net after multiple attempts at the Portland Timbers goal in the . This time he did it in style giving LAFC' an early lead.


At the 54th minute Mamadou Fall doubled the lead with a powerful ping ball shot from a corner kick deflection.


Despite all the incredible saves Maxime Crépeau had, Portland had a clear chance at the 82nd minute when Fogaca Nathan beat Maxime to the ball only to shoot the ball from a far angle missing the open goal.
