Los Angeles Football Club's forward Adama Diomande mutually agree to part ways

According to a statement released by the player on his Instagram account, Dio choose to terminate his contract with LAFC so as to take care of his loved ones.


With the many family priorities in my life, I have decided to terminate my contract with immediate effect in order to best care for my loved ones.

He also added that he will miss everybody and the club also that the decision had been made after a lot of thought went through it.



EVP of soccer operations and General Manager John Thorrington, said " We believe that being an LAFC player is about more than just what happens on the field," He added that Dio made them aware of a personal situation he was dealing with and together they came with a solution to work on both favors.


The Norwegian joined LAFC from Hull City and since, he recorded 20 goals, 11 assists in 44 regular season matches and starting in 29 of those games. Apart from being a key instrument in some of LAFC's wins, he has achieved 1 MLS player of the week, 1 MLS player of the month as well as bagging the first hat trick for LAFC in June 30, 2018 vs Philadelphia.
