Quartz Hills Rebels defeats Highland Bulldogs 3-1

The Quartz Hill Rebels earned a big win at Highland High School on Friday the 13th. The importance of the rivalry match could be felt from the moment that you walked into the bulldogs’ field. A large away crowd was present to support their Rebels in this rivalry match.

The match begins with both teams trying to dictate the pace of the game. The Rebels were able to maintain order in the back line and fought off multiple offensive attacks from the Bulldogs. Quartz Hill were able to counterattack the Bulldogs from all sides of the field. The speed of the wingers allowed for multiple opportunities from the forwards and attacking midfielders to move up closer to the box and by doing so, forcing defenders to step up and allowing the forwards move into more scoring opportunities.

In the 20th minute of the first half, the bulldogs defense were able to clear a dangerous ball inside the box, however, Victor Jimenez was able to pass the ball to Jaxson Oliver, whom took a long shot from about 40 yards away to score a screamer! The away crowd were so loud that you would of thought that this was a home game for the Rebels.

For the remainder of the first half, the Bulldogs would become more offensive and tested Nolan Rielly (Goalkeeper) multiple times just to be denied and at the end of the first half, the score would stand at one to nil (1-0).

The beginning of the second half started with a substitution of the goalkeeper by the Rebels, Divontae Williams would get the call to defend the Rebels' net. The Rebels continue to control the midfield and were able to continue catch the Bulldogs on a 3 vs 3 in where, Victor Jimenez made a pass to Damien Montoya whom took a flair shot to place it out of the reach of the Bulldogs' goalkeeper and had the Rebels leading by 2-0.
