Despite an early opener by Kevin Cabral at the 32nd minute, the Whitecaps wanted a piece of the points by nailing a header 5 minutes into second half, thus sharing a point with the home team at the final whistle.
It was clear that LA Galaxy had a better chance at bagging 3 points; however, missed opportunities from some of the Galaxy players especially Samuel Grandsir at the 28th minute - by trying to fire a far post shot past Maxime Crépeau the Vancouver goalie but it fired inches away - denied Galaxy an early lead.
"...I thought initially in the first half we weren't finishing our attacks, it was kind of possession for the sake of moving them around..." Coach Greg mentioned during the press.
Vancouver's equalizer came from a corner kick from Ranko Veselinovic; he was able to beat Bond to the ball and score a dazzling header awarding his team a share of the pie.
