Self-quarantining, staying at home and keeping distance are the weird new normal. And for many, it's an anxious time. But as we worry about the health - physical and financial - of our friends and family, most of us want to know: How can we help. TheFieldtalk has been on the forefront in donating food supplies to families around Kenya.
From charities that support children to organizations that feed families, there is no shortage of ways to get involved. Amid the pandemic, TheFieldtalk has continued its mission to distribute food to 40 needy families in Kenya per weekend. Over the past weekend they distributed 100 kilograms of rice to Martha Angel Children’s home based in Kabiria, Satellite within Nairobi county.
Martha Angel Children’s home, managed by Martha Macharia, is currently home to over 60 orphaned or abandoned children and 2 adults, with the youngest being just over a year old while two of these kids are mentally challenged. The 3 bed-roomed house at Kabiria, which was also a gift from a well-wisher, ensures that all children get a decent livelihood, care and love irrespective of the race or condition they are born into.
TheFieldtalk intends to reach as many needy families as possible. We’ve partnered with various Community Based Organizations to aid in the food distribution process like Uweza Foundation based in Kibera and Iam Heshima based in Busia. Without an income, Martha Maria and many needier families finds it difficult to put food on their table. Even so, she is grateful for the food donated by Fieldtalk.
With the dwindling supply of food, TheFieldtalk reaches out to various partners and well-wishers to join in this noble cause by making donations here
